My Macbook Pro's hard drive imploded. Applecare was nice enough to send me a new one. I pop in the new drive, boot to the restore DVD, point it to my most recent Time Machine backup, and wait 6 hours.

My gf just got a new Dell, and it turns out they no longer even include a restore DVD -- they have a restore *partition* on the HDD, which can be used to restore the OS to its original (read: bloated) ...
