Weather: Few more inches of snow expected; Worcester parking ban remains
Warmer temps for remainder of week.
Residents in Worcester, Massachusetts, say they are frustrated over mounting snowbanks after a massive winter storm dropped nearly two feet of snow over two weeks ago.
Bergman said it was "incredibly frustrating" that there is "significant oversight" and yet the same streets seem to have been neglected for years. He said the city had three chances to "do it right," as snowplow operators, inspectors and supervisors all oversee removal efforts.
WORCESTER — With warmer temperatures helping with snow-clearing efforts, the city will lift the declared parking ban at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. Residents who parked in municipal garages, free during parking bans, have until noon Thursday to exit without being charged.
“Worcester Public Schools consults with city and public safety officials when deciding whether to hold school during winter weather. The district closely monitors current and forecasted conditions, including snow and ice accumulation, road safety, and the ability to safely transport students,” the district stated.
