Main Street Madison plans to revitalize the downtown area

The humble steamship Madison delivered mail up and down the Suwannee River for years - but in 1862 it was conscripted into the Confederate Army during the US Civil War. For three years the Madison shipped horses, supplies, even soldiers between Columbus GA and North Florida.
