We're stocking up for Free Fishing Weekend (June 1-2)! After the annual spring fish survey at Antero Reservoir, the Monte Vista Hatchery arrived with 23,000 brook trout to be stocked. Another 40,000 were stocked here the week before. Brook trout are stocked into Antero about every three years. They are stocked in low numbers compared to all other trout species (brown, rainbows, cutbows, cutthroat, Snake River Cutthroat) planted at Antero. On years they are stocked, like this year, they only make
